NASA Lightning Protection Project

In the early 70's, when the use of FRP piping was rapidly expanding in process industries, premature failures almost killed user interest. Frank Britt, with a broad experience in stress analysis, assisted a major resin producer in the development of design procedures that virtually eliminated failures and increased service life. These same design procedures were applied to tanks, ducting, and hoods with equal success.

For over two decades BRITT has continued to use and teach the same procedures with complete success.
